Care & Maintenance
Everyday Cleaning
For day-to-day cleaning, simply wipe the surface using warm water and a mild detergent or gentle soapy solution. Use a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge to remove everyday marks, spills, and fingerprints without damaging the finish. Once cleaned, rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly using a paper towel or soft cloth to maintain a clean, streak-free appearance. Regular gentle cleaning will help preserve the surface’s colour and finish for years to come.
Stains & Stubborn Marks
Most household stains can be removed easily using a non-abrasive cleaner and a damp cloth. For older or more stubborn marks, allow the cleaner to sit on the affected area for a few minutes before gently wiping clean. Avoid using harsh scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive cleaning products, as these may dull or affect the surface appearance over time. Promptly cleaning spills such as coffee, wine, oils, or sauces will help keep the surface looking its best.
Scratches
Sintered stone is an extremely durable and hard-wearing surface designed to cope with the demands of modern living. It offers excellent resistance to scratching and everyday wear, making it a practical choice for kitchens and high-use areas. However, no surface is completely scratch proof, so we still recommend using chopping boards when preparing food and avoiding dragging sharp or heavy objects directly across the worktop. Proper day-to-day care will help preserve the finish and overall appearance for years to come.
Heat
Sintered stone offers exceptional resistance to heat and high temperatures, making it particularly well suited to demanding kitchen environments. The surface is designed to tolerate significantly higher temperatures than many other worktop materials during normal use. However, although highly heat resistant, it is not completely heat proof. We still recommend using trivets or heat pads beneath hot pans, trays, and appliances to provide additional protection and help maintain the worktop’s appearance over time.
Substances to Avoid
Avoid using abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh industrial cleaning chemicals on the surface. While sintered stone is highly resistant to staining and chemicals, using gentle cleaning products will help maintain the original finish and appearance. Hydrofluoric acid-based products should never be used, as they may damage the material.

Everyday Cleaning
Clean natural stone surfaces regularly using warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner or mild soap with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive products, as natural stone requires gentler care to maintain its appearance. After cleaning, dry the surface thoroughly using a soft cloth or paper towel to help prevent water marks, streaks, and mineral residue. With proper everyday care, natural stone will continue to retain its beauty and distinctive character for years to come.
As a natural material, some stones may subtly develop in appearance over time, with slight changes in tone or character occurring through everyday use and exposure to natural light. This gentle ageing process is part of the unique charm of natural stone and adds to its authentic, timeless appeal.
Stains & Stubborn Marks
Natural stone can be more porous than engineered surfaces, so spills should always be cleaned as quickly as possible to reduce the risk of staining. For stubborn or dried marks, use a specialist stone-safe cleaner designed specifically for natural stone surfaces. Avoid harsh scrubbing or aggressive chemical products, especially on polished finishes, as these may damage the surface or remove the protective sealant. Regular sealing, where recommended, can also help improve stain resistance.
Scratches
Depending on the type of stone and finish selected, natural stone surfaces may be susceptible to scratching from sharp or heavy objects. To help protect the worktop and maintain its appearance, always use chopping boards when preparing food and avoid dragging cookware, ceramics, or metal items across the surface. Taking simple precautions will help minimise wear and preserve the natural finish over time.
Heat
Natural stone generally offers good resistance to heat and performs well in kitchen environments. However, sudden temperature changes or prolonged direct heat exposure may still affect the surface or sealant. We recommend always using trivets or heat pads beneath hot pans, trays, and appliances to provide additional protection and maintain the longevity of the worktop.
Substances to Avoid
Avoid acidic substances such as lemon juice, vinegar, wine, or harsh chemical cleaners, particularly on marble, limestone, and other calcium-based stones, as they may cause etching, dull patches, or surface damage. Bleach, abrasive cleaners, and strong alkaline products should also be avoided. Always use cleaning products specifically recommended for natural stone to maintain the finish and protect the surface over time.
